To change the text of the 169-flyofftext effect

In the Hollywood FX special effect #169-flyofftext, you have a text part; this may be changed to your wish.

Here is the procedure to be followed :

  1. open Pinnacle Studio
  2. drop two clips on the time-line
  3. drag the transition #169 from the Album between the two clips
  4. double click on the transition
  5. click "edit"
  6. Easy FX Editor will open
  7. on the bottom part (in the FX window), click on "Blue-Comic"

  1. after you have clicked on "Blue-Comic", you will see in the top left corner:
    • Text3D
      • Font: Brush Script MT ...
      • Text : Texthere
      • Text quality : 3
  2. click on "texthere", delete it, and replace it with your text
  3. if you want to change the font, click on the "small folder" near "Font" and change it
  4. when you have finished your modification, click ok (right bottom part), Easy FX Editor will close
  5. you will be back in Studio, you HFX effect is ready to be used.

That's all there is, it's done!

Take note that this tip can be used with ANY HFX effect with text object.

First, there is no #169 effect. The one I tried was BAS-FlyOff. Second, there was no Blue Comic, I would guess because there was not #169 effect. I did try some of the effects I have that do have text, and never could come up with a text area to edit.

#169 effect must be downloaded first (from the Free HFX page - follow the link in the tutorial). For BAS-FlyOff, you will not find the same settings. Blue Comic apply to #169. Try downloading #169 and decompressing it. Once it works, you can try with other effects with Text (note that Standard S11 can not edit text - see HFX FAQ concerning this topic).

Sorry, should have added a three - the link did not work yesterday to the #169 effect, but does today. Thanks

I have downloaded 169 Flyoff Test and 297 Cinema and when I try to edit I get the message regarding purchasing an activation key. What am I doing wrong.

Hello Bill,

Some HFX effects are "Basic", others are "Plus/Pro or Mega". Please read informations given in our "Free HFX page", you will have all details (to of the page). Thanks,
