Hello McManus,

You should get in touch with AVID Support for understanding what's happened and how to correct it.

There's nothing to talk with them about - I reinstalled Windows 7 and am slowly rebuilding the rest of the system. Bottom line is that the REGDELETE tool is extremely dangerous and should be modified to make sure that it can not modify anything in the registry besides Pinnacle products. The fact that it is required in the first place is a testament to the poor quality control employed by Pinnacle in releasing its products and install/uninstall functionality.

Hello McManus,

You are the first one of several thousands of users who encounter this kind of problem.
I am sure that you have another kind of problem, since the regdelete tool is not affecting the OS. I am sure, since we have several thousands of users who already used it. But if you used the tool for an unapproved software version or OS, it might affect your OS...

Take care before using a reg tool, that it applies to your specific case (OS and Studio version).
