Free Montage Themes you said ? Good Quality ?

Yes, that's exactly what you discovered on 1st September 2010 in our newsletter. This is indeed what 20cents.video offers, more than 250 originals themes (free, high quality)! And since then, 20cents did not sleep, have a look to his most recent creation:

Importing an animated GIF image into Avid or Pinnacle Studio in a few clicks !

The question is recurrent, is it possible to import an animated GIF image in Pinnacle and now Avid Studio ?

For an unknown reason, even if these video editing softwares are able to import many media format, Pinnacle software developers didn't found any interest in this issue. Bad luck, because it can be fun to enrich our video of this kind of small animations.

Until now, the most skilled users could follow the tutorial published on this site 2 years ago written by our friend gg (Using an Animated GIF in Studio). The result is consistent with the expectations, but the operation may become quite painful if it must be repeated.

Having done this operation once, I got the idea to write a small program to automate all of these operations, and to consolidate the result just into a montage theme. It will then be possible to manipulate your GIF animation as a single object, which can be reused very easily. This program is hosted on 20cents-video website (direct link), so you will avoid having to install any program on your computer! You will also find a detailed user guide. On the other hand, each time a visitor import a GIF animation, it becomes (unless otherwise specified) available to other visitors, who can now find quantities of animated GIF already converted as mountage theme and downloadable in a few clicks.

Important, to use this tool or download existing content, you will be required to register on 20cents-video website (it's free, and this will give you access to more than 400 original montage themes).

In the meantime, here's a small sample of what this tool provides ... (download this file named Your-Animated-Gif.zip, and unzip it into C:\Users\Public\Documents\Pinnacle\Content\IMG-Templates for Windows Vista or Seven or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Pinnacle\Content\IMG-Template for Windows XP. Montage themes will be located into Your-Animated-Gif series which should be the last one in the list)

20Cents has developped a lot of Pinnacle Montage, and for those who do not know him, he offer us a "Special Edition" to celebrate its 200th theme, available exclusively on Déclic Vidéo FX website! With AVID Studio, this Special Edition was not working anymore, and he works hard to modify it, to bring a full compatibility with AVID Studio (excepted Themes #193 unfortunately, which is only working with Pinnacle Studio). That's done ! Download it below. But CAUTION, before installing it, please remove the old version (otherwise AVID Studio might propose some montage which are locked). To do so, simply delete the following folder: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Pinnacle\Content\IMG-Templates\20cents Hors Serie before decompressing the zip file.

In this special edition, you will find in particular:

• An animation of the route (simplified!) to choose your departure and arrival points. Under an apparent simplicity, it is the most complex he has ever done ...
• A disco ball to put your clips on each side (the 200th) ...
• A title banner inspired by the chain of i-TV info
• A magical sphere in which you slide a picture, and turn without you never see the edges of the photo :-)
• An atmosphere "cinema"
• and a few other themes that I took pleasure in doing

To install, simply unzip the file "20cents_Hors_Serie_AVID_AND_PINNACLE.zip" (4.9 Mb) that you have previously placed in the following directory:

• XP: C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Documents \ Pinnacle \ Content \ IMG-Templates
• 7 and Vista: C: \ Users \ Public \ Documents \ Pinnacle \ Content \ IMG-Templates

Caution, this series will only work with 16:9 video formats.
