You just installed Studio 16 and I am sure that your Declic Video's transitions are not present, nor your old functional plugins free or provided with a previous version of Studio. So do not panic and before you ask the question, I will explain the procedure.

You probably remember the universal batch program Transplug-Studio-AVID working on all OS. It scanned Pinnacle Studio's versions from 12 to 15 and Avid Studio installed on your computer in order 12, 14, 15, Avid. The details of its operation were explained in the news A birth in the Transplug family.

This is the same batch program that has been adapted to take into account Studio 16. It now scans Pinnacle Studio's versions from 12 to 16 and Avid Studio installed on your computer in order 12, 14, 15, Avid Studio and 16. He also transfers 00 - Declic Video's transitions installed.

This new batch program Transplug-HFX is available in our downloads page (it replaces all the old batch programs that existed for different versions of Studio and OS).

It always shows what it is doing and displays a summary report of what it did at the end of the program.

In an administrator session or with UAC at lowest level (or desactivated in Vista), launch the Transplug-HFX.bat file by double-clicking its name.

You will just open Studio 16 to see all your plugins ...

If you have paid proDAD plugins, they are not transferred by the batch program Transplug-HFX. In this case, you must perform the upgrade and installation scheduled for each proDAD plugin, ie:

  • Without uninstall;
  • The update is downloaded by clicking on the link from the purchase confirmation email;
  • Then install the package - that's all;
  • During installation, you specify which version of Studio you want to install the plugin:

Sélection des versions de Studio

Note: The Transplug-HFX.bat and HFX-DVFX-STUDIO-xxx.zip files are being tested, wait a little longer ...

Hello Sue,
I propose that you check:
* Who has not had problems with HFX effects ?
* Avid Studio, Pinnacle Studio and 00 - Declic-Video Transitions
* A birth in the Transplug family
Otherwise, please clarify your questions in the forums (links available in our home page, at the bottom).

Hello Steve,

The batch file will not enable proDAD plugins, the batch only concern free plugins working with S16 as well as previous free plugins working with S16.
Plugins which are not free are not included, you need to manually transfer them by copying the .fex file and .xml associated to proDAD (from a previous version).

Hi all. Have had no luck in using InstallHFZ with Pinnacle 16. I was able to transfer the DeClic transitions I had on Studio 14, but anything new I try to download gets the message that I need to put the Studio 16 disc in place, which I do, and then I get an error message that the file that needs to be accessed on the disc may be corrupted. Is there any way to download directly to HFX 6.0?

Hello,
In the news "New Free HFX", it is written :
WARNING: If you just installed a new Studio version, do not be surprised by the dialog boxes that appear when decompressing files HFZ. Refer to our tutorial My HFX Transitions create problems for me Step 1, point 5 and you will know everything ...

Hello John,
I have a French user who has sent me a screenshot of the message. It seems that all those who have installed the patch Studio 16.0.1.98 cannot decompress HFZ. The information was sent to Pinnacle.

Can not find DV Transitions:
I download *.hfz file and run it okay. All files are installed. I find file (359-film-projection-in.hfx in folder C:/users/public/documents/pinnacle/content/HollywoodFX/Effects/00 - Declec Video.
I have other DV HFX files in S14; AVID Studio also without problem.
I ran TransPlug-Studio-AVID batch file. It looked like it ran okay and ended. I do not understand "7434 files copied. 95 files copied." message but it went from S14 to Avid and ended correctly.
I open S16 (w/patch 1) and I can not find DV transitions.
What am I doing wrong, please.

Hello Bill C,
If you are using Studio 16, you must use the new version TransPlug-Studio-AVID batch file (Version 2 download from the website). This batch program transfers free plugins and Declic-Video transitions (which explains the large number of files copied). But just to transfer Declic-Video transitions, it's unnecessary to use this batch program, use the light batch "Repare-HFX-11-12-14-15.bat" and Trans-HFX-AVID.bat (Version 2).
Reread our tutorial "Installation of Declic Video transitions: A to Z".

@Steve... I believe there is an update for Heroglyph. I have the purchased version, 2.5 and updated it to 2.6 and it works fine in Avid Studio and PS16. Just make sure that your project is fully loaded first before opening the plugin.
You can get the update HERE. It is called Service 2.6.32.11

I recently upgraded from PS 15 to PS 16 and, as you know, Prodad did not transfer. I just saw this posting by you: The batch file will not enable proDAD plugins, the batch only concern free plugins working with S16 as well as previous free plugins working with S16.
Plugins which are not free are not included, you need to manually transfer them by copying the .fex file and .xml associated to proDAD (from a previous version).

Do you have a tutorial for the transfer?

Also, I saw a Youtube tutorian that shows the person copying and pasting Boris Graffit from a previous version into PS 16 and claming that it works without problems. Do you know if that works?

Thanks again'

Hello Pat,

I will only give you official supported solution:
1/ Run the installer from proDAD, then go to proDAD website, and download the latest patch. It will simply install proDAD into Pinnacle Studio 16. Very simple.
2/ You might want to do it manually, by copying your .fex and .xml files (from previous PS15 install) into PS16 folders. This is an undocumented feature that I will not detail here (might confuse people, and that's risky sometimes).

Regarding Boris FX, just run the installer you had from PS 15 and it will work as well.
