Free Declic Video transitions Declic have largely been part of the success of the site. Continuously improved, supplemented, renewed and technically adapted to the different versions of Studio, they have greatly helped to publicize the site. As to technical developments, we had to adapt the integration procedures in Studio and currently there are three types of users that each have at their disposal a simple way to integrate our transitions.

Step 1 : General

You can preview our transitions in our Preview free HFX page before download them in our Free HFX page.

You can download either one by one or by packet by looking at the top of the HFX page :

  • 001 to find the files HFX 001-->100
  • 101 to find teh files HFX 101-->200
  • etc...

Once downloaded, the transitions must be uncompressed (See our tutorials "Tuto-1 Files with .HFZ extension" and "My HFX transitions create problems for me...".

Once uncompressed the transitions apear in Hollywood FX (See our tutorial "Learn Hollywood FX (HFX)"). It remains to show them in Studio and based on your user category, you will choose one of the three procedures below to complete your task.

Step 2 : A few of history

The first users of our transitions have been the first to know the tricks to display manually the transitions in their Pinnacle Studio software. In order to simplify the manual operations, the DV-FX team has decided to computerize these tasks by making them done by a batch program. The batch program (or. Bat) is a small executable file that allows you to automate tasks. Unlike other file types (such as. Exe), it can be edited with notepad (right click -> Edit) to see what it contains. This allows you to see the operations that are scheduled, roughly, what will happen. Even if you think the code "complicated" at first, you will see that it's easy to understand what is running, allowing you to not worry about risky operations (if the file has been downloaded from our website ). With a batch file, we know exactly what sauce we ate! You can find its origin in the mythical tutorial "Tip-1 HFX effects do not appear in Studio".

To run a batch file, double click on its name. The execution of batch programs, however, must meet specific criteria to properly perform the work asked of them :

  • You must be in an administrator session;
  • In Vista, set "User Account Control" off to run the batch;
  • In Seven, set "User Account Control" to zero to run the batch;
  • Never run a batch file that has not been downloaded directly from this site;
  • Save the file on your hard drive and run from your hard drive. Running from this website may prevent proper operation.
  • Our batch files only work if Studio is installed on the C: drive and installed with default criterias.
Step 3 : Users that only own Pinnacle Studio 1-15

According to technical developments, changes in OS, version changes, several versions of batch files have been available for users of Pinnacle Studio 1-15.

Currently, only one universal batch file Repare-HFX-11-12-14-15.bat allows you to display in Pinnacle Studio 11, 12, 14 and 15 all the transitions present in Hollywood FX (The ancestor Repare-HFX-10.bat is still available and works with Studio 10). We explained this detailed creation in our news "Avid Studio, Pinnacle Studio and 00 - Declic-Video Transitions" on 09/25/2011.

Step 4: Users that own Pinnacle Studio 1-15 and a new Studio version installed on the same computer

During spring 2011, Avid Studio has been released. With its very special architecture that had nothing to do with the well known architecture of Pinnacle Studio version 1-15, it was necessary to challenge and create new tools.

For the record, Version 1 of the program was a batch transfer program of the former Pinnacle Studio 1-15 plugins still functional in Avid Studio. I quote for the record because it transferred in the same operation our transition from Pinnacle Studio 1-15 to Avid Studio. Version 2 of this program Transplug-HFX.bat relatively heavy, doing the same thing in all new Studio versions installed on the same computer. It is available and can be used only once after installing a new Studio version (See our news "A birth in the Transplug family").

A feature of a new Studio version is that it can not get by itself the transitions added or modified in Hollywood FX. So we must use Pinnacle Studio 1-15 as a relay. After applying step 3 above, the transitions are in the album of Pinnacle Studio 1-15. We then created a small batch program Trans-HFX-AVID.bat (Version 2) that will recover the transitions in Pinnacle Studio 1-15 to copy them in new Studio versions.

Step 5 : Users that only own Avid Studio or a new Studio version in their computer

So far, we could not do without Pinnacle Studio 1-15 to use transitions in a new Studio version as described in step 4 above.

To overcome the lack of Pinnacle Studio 1-15 on your computer, we provide you with a file : HFX-DVFX-STUDIO-xxx.zip which contains :

  1. The file 00 - Declic Video.bmp with all thumbnails 001 à xxx
  2. The xml files of all the transitions 001 to xxx
  3. An installation file INSTALL.BAT

For more details on this batch file, its content, its use and what you can do, please refer to our tutorial "Install our free transitions in Pinnacle Studio 16 (or AVID Studio)".

And if you do not understand everything, do not hesitate to ask questions...

Hello Mehaul,

It means that your Studio 15 has not a standard path for some of the components. Before applying the patch, we are testing all path, if one fail, then we do not do anything and we report this error message. Therefore, you need:
- either to re-install in a standard way
- using a manual method described to patch

Hi there Declic people<

I've recently installed Avid Studio (1.1) om my Computer. Both Pinnnacle Studio 10 Plus and Studio 12 Ultimate are still installed om my pc too.

I tried to get both your transitions and my own personal ones into Avid Studio, but no such luck:(

I have Windows 7 64 bit. My user account is an administrator one and I have set the user account control to zero. I ran the Repare-HFX-11-12-14-15.bat file. After that I openend Studio 12 to regenarate the transitions. Next I ran the Trans-HFX-AVID.bat file. After that I openend Avid. But unfortunately not Declic or personal transitions in Avid.

I tried the whole above procedure again but this time ran the bat files as administrator (right click, run as administor). But that didn't do the trick.

I'm out of options. Can you please help me out? What do I wrong?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Kind regards,
Sonja

Hi,
I would appreciate a copy of that email,
Many thanks

Mehaul,

As far as I understand, Sonnetje69 has a standard installation. You don't have a standard installation, and therefore I can't do anything for you, excepted if you dig into the batch file code and do the modification manually.

I tried to use Trans-HFX to convert the HFX used in Studio 11 to new Studio 16.

When I open the folder in Windows Explorer, I can see that the HFX are transfered, but they do not show up in the library of Studio 16. Any tricks?

Hello RudolffusV,
Yes, I have several ideas:
- You do not read carefully all our HFX tutorials;
- You don't know run a batch program correctly;
- You are not running the right program batch;
- Your configuration is not standard.
I can only encourage you to read our tutorials dealing with the topic and affirm you that it's possible...

No, Migi did´t die. But he had some other things to do. ;-)

It´s right that the problem was solved with the perfect help of Le Papy - thanks again! :-)

@Rudolfusv: Did you run the batch-files as an administrator (if you´re using Windows)? That´s what solved my problem.
