Can I really uninstall all other versions and content? Even though I was told that I could after installing s12 it always caused problems when I did.
Are you sure that after installing s14 that I can uninstall all previous installations and not experience any problems with the new s14 installation?

Yes you can, but only AFTER S14 installation...
On my side, I have uninstall S10/S11 when I upgraded to S14, without any problem. I have only S9, S12 and S14 on my computer. I would recommend to stay with S12 for a few weeks, just to be sure that no content is missing. In addition, you can use SmartSound in S12 (which is not possible in S14).
But for sure, if you uninstall S12, you won't have any problem (excepted if you have no luck and a non-standard configuration). A 100% answer is never possible with computer, sorry... I would say that I am 98% confident !

Hello,
I installed PS14 Ultimate Collection. Transferred the content from PS11.
But, how can I use Smartsound in PS14 UC?
Now I can only see Scorefitter. No Smartsound is available anymore.

Pinnacle does not support Smartsound anymore. It's a pitty but it's like saby wrote, no way to use Smartsound in S14.

Hello Gert, That is correct, Pinnacle did not include the SmartSound Quicktracks plugin in Studio 11 or 12, but it would still work if you installed the plugin on your own. This is not the case in the upcoming Studio 14, which will specifically disable Quicktracks. Unfortunately there will be no way to access SmartSound music from within Studio 14. However, you can use our standalone software, Sonicfire Pro 5. Sonicfire Pro 5 can use all of your SmartSound music and will generate an audio file at the length you need. You can then take that audio file and import it into Studio to use. The full Scoring Edition of Sonicfire Pro also gives you much more flexibility when it comes to customizing your tracks. If you like, you can download a free demo of Sonicfire Pro from the link below to see what it can do. Although you may lose some workflow efficiency by having to change between programs, you gain much more control over the music. If you want to use SmartSound music in Pinnacle Studio 14, this will really be the best option. Is there a way ( looking for step by step instruction ) on how to extract what is already sitting in Pinnacle Studio into your STAND ALONE ? I think you might want address this since there are a large number of Studio users around the world who don't want to loose anything by upgrading to Studio 14 !! Hello Gert, It should be seamless. Both Sonicfire Pro and the Quicktracks plugin use the same folder to store sound files, so you should only have to install Sonicfire Pro and it should detect all of your previous music. If you store your music in a separate folder other than the default SmartSound location, you will need to go into the options menu and click the Folders tab, then click Add and browse to the folder where your sound files are stored. Once this is set, Sonicfire Pro should detect all of your SmartSound music. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Regards,Frank -----------------------------

Thanks for all the quick reply. I know about Sonic Fire Pro though, but to put a Smartsound file directly into the project is much more easy.
Another thing I tried and it worked is to convert all the Smartsound files into .WAV files.
WAV files you can use in PS14.
What you cannot do then as to create an end to the music like Smartsound automaticly does when you adjust the lenhgt to the scene. So you'll have to fade the music out.
Thanks again and to bad that Smartsound is not directly available in PS14. In my opinion it is a short coming.
PS14 UC,....the new Pinnacle software more functions,...more this,....more that,.... Ooh, we forgot to mention,....." You will have less music files !!!!"

I managed to solve problems with Bias SounSoap (invalid XML - error 4) for Windows XP with proceduree explained in your article: Use VirtualDub's filters in Studio. "delete the file EffectCache.xxxxxx et EditorCache.xxxxx (xxxxx = a hex number) in the folder
..Documents and Settings\all users\Documents\Pinnacle\Program Files\Pinnacle\Studio 11 (or 12)\Programs\Plugins\RTFx"

It's a pity you cannot use Smartsound with Pinnacle Studio 14. Smartsound has very good film musik and it have worked fine several years from now. I uppgraded to Studio 14 but regret it now and use the studio 12 Ultimate instead. I cant understand they were so stupid not to work this out. I am sure they both will loose market segments on this!

Hello there. I am writing from Italy so please excuse any mistake I will make. I have installed Pinnacle studio 14 Ultimate collection upgrade (previous version 9, 10, 11 and 12 ultimate. I worked out a dvd based on normal piucures I scanned and everything worked out. Now with nmy furst film I get a dvd which cannot be read by my dvd equipment and also on pc I get mediaplayer reading it only on my laptop and not on PC... (maybe video set up) I can only read it on pc via asus dvd player. What mistake did I do? what is wrong in my settings? Any help will be very very much appreciated. thank you all

However, I don't see many of these installed? I have Studio 14 Ultimate Collection and in the video/aucio effects sections I can only seem to find the free HFX effects, Scorefitter(but I don't see where it indicates V1 or V2), Magic Bullet, RTFX V1. I DO NOT see Hollywood FX packs, Title Extreme, Premium Packs, Creative Pack or Winter Pack. WHERE ARE THEY??

Very disappointing that Studio 14 does not recognize Smart Sound. I've been collecting them since Studio 9 and have a few hundred $$$ worth of the CD's. If I had of known Studio 14 didn't have the ability anymore, I would have stuck with Studio 11.
This is ridiculous Pinnacle. Will not be encouraging any users to Studio 14!

After installing Pinnacle Studio 14 Ultimate under Vista Home Premium my computer continues to configure it when I'm not using it under an administrator account, but as a regular user.
What can I do to stop this from happening

It depends how you did the installation. Check our tutorial: "Choose the users of this application, by checking the appropriate box if you are several to use the same PC. With Vista, we recommend you to check the second option because of problems related to UAC."
Studio need to be launched with UAC deactivated.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it does not give a good answer to the problem. UAC is an important feature of Vista, which I do not want to disable.
I would appreciate a solution that works in a normal way under Vista without disabling security options.
So, I hope for further action from Pinnacle.

Hi there.
I purchased studio 14 a few days ago and installed it successfully onto my laptop. Today I tried installing it onto my normal computer, but I got an error message that goes: "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personal for assistance." I looked online and couldn't find anybody else that had experienced this problem. I've tried re-downloading Windows Installer 4.5 online, but it still gives me this message. I'd really appreciate any help with this, I'd like to get it up and running.

Have a look to Microsoft knowledge base, there is an article concerning your problem, called "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed".
Finally, if it's still fail, this can happen when your installation file is corrupted. In such case, try to download it again and again. Or request the media. Take note that it can also happen when you have an anti-virus running (during download or installation). In such case, try to disable it for few minutes.

Hi DV, I am confused about Hollywood FX. It seems like the newer versions are not for Pinnacle studio 14, but hosts are Premier etc. Which Hollywood FX volumes/Versions work with Pinnacle studio ultimate 14? And after installed, does everything work under the Pinnacle userface or do you open Hollywood FX seperately to use it?

Hollywood FX pack have never worked with Pinnacle Studio when sold "as is" (alone). You always need to purchase it through Pinnacle to have it working. That's the way it works for all plugins concerning Studio.
Nevertheless, I did not know that a new pack was released recently, do you have any reference ?

Hello there. I just discovered your web site. Nicely done and seems genuine. I am using Studio 10.8 because Pinnacle disabled Quick Tracks after that and I have several hundred dollars invested in the Smartsound/Quicktracks music. I am really angry with Pinnacle over this.
Anyway, since I am sticking with Pinnacle 10.8 does anybody know if there is a plug in, or way to edit HD video from my Sanyo Xacti HD 700 mini cam in 10.8?

is it true that s14 movieboard will not capture i.e. the P.C. crashes if you try to capture vhs tapes this only applies if you have more than 2gig memory and you are running win 7 64bit the capture driver is the problem and the P.C. will crash when u open up import and apply the settings if u get that fare, nothing shows in the capture window, and when u go to close the application it locks up or bsod. And I believe Pinnacle have known this for past year from reading a lot of posts.
I have just sent my movieboard back to Amazon for a refund.
will now buy the ADVC CANOPUS capture device which works straight out of the box. Would you make other potential buyers aware of this Please

Studio 14 Unltimate Collection crashed my computer at the make movie cycle. When I reopened my file, all of the video capture shows on the line with a big "!", the rest of the lines of pictures and audio are okay. All of my capture files and previously finished AVI files look okay, but Studio won't show them in the preview screen, on the preview "!", in the file box "?".
I imported new capture video and it does the same thing. If I uninstall Studio and reinstall it, will I lose all of my capture and video files?

I use HD 14 one year nearly.
I just problem with sound .
After I add to extra sound from Microphone.
sound was gone. no more sound from any video from HD 14 .
I setup Studio 11 again. Sound come back again.
But HD 14 still stop sound .
I try to delete and setup again HD 14 ,
Pc show Msi network .
I have no Idea.

Hello,
I had Studio Ultimate Collection 14 on my computer. I bought it at the end of 2010. My computer recently crashed. I started fresh and formatted my hard drive and re-installed Windows 7. I need to locate the program online so I can download and install fresh. Can ayone point me to were I can download it? I login to my accound and I had me serial number sent to me. And I see the link to click to generate key. But I can not find a link to download the program. Thanks

With only 10 days left in the trial version of Studio 15, I decided that it was working so well that I would upgrade to Studio 15 ultimate complete.
I have downloaded it, but whenever I get to the Bonus content install area it givd this message: Setup cannot find a compatible version of an on your syste,. Set up will new exit. (whatever 'of an' means)
Now I am stuck. Please HELP. I paid for the upgrade and now am not able to install it. Thanks.
