This tutorial gives an example of an introductory video trip flying over the Earth, from start to finish. For this it uses Google Earth to fly over and Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 for screengrab. To finalize and resolve some problems we use an editing software as Pinnacle Studio.

We have already published several tutorials about creating end credits. Probably, one of the oldest is the tutorial "Closing credits: Star Wars" because it was already on the old Declic-Video site. That tutorial used the 3rd party plugin JPs Effects. Other tutorials were created later on, based on other ideas and/or new software. But this tutorial is the first that does not use any external plugin and uses only what is available to every owner of Pinnacle Studio Ultimate (V14 or above).

If you watch French television in the early evening and especially channel five, you have certainly noticed the effects commonly used in the broadcast "C dans l'air"®. These effects are interesting and some of our readers would like to include them in their editing but they wonder with what software they can do it. I thought our Studio could do most of the work of course...

Some softwares allow preview of video corrections with a DUAL effect or SPLIT SCREEN: with and without correction. With Studio it is not expected and we must "cheat" ! Dont' worry this trick is not very long to implement, but its result is good enough to make adjustments in good conditions.

Sometimes you would like to extract the soundtrack out of a finished video film to be able to edit it in a wave-editor. There are a lot of ways you can do this, but the easiest method is within Studio itself.

One of our faithful readers and friends, Serge Gastineau is the source of the spark that gave rise to this tutorial. On a famous forum, he regretted the lack of tracks in a studio, and in particular he said that simply overlay a logo on a video mobilized the title track for the duration of the video... and it was not entirely wrong !
I saved this phrase in an area of my cerabral hard disk and time doing his work ... this tutorial was created.

The Studio software uses several plugins. One of the oldest, if not the oldest, is certainly Hollywood FX. Studio in version 12, came with the Boris Graffiti plugin. Then, using Studio 12 and the two plugins mentioned, I made a small unassuming clip, just to show you how we can bring together these three elements to integrate a time code in a video which itself is then included in another video.

Remember this French series? These short episodes certainly stayed with you for days and the credits and music are still fresh in everyone's minds. Declic-Video has dissected the credits and will reveal it's secrets.
This tutorial is largely based on a tutorial found on the Internet titled "First Trip" which explained how to achieve this effect with Adobe Premiere (In case you're curious, it was under Adobe Premiere but has since disappeared ...).

I was inspired by the Montage Themes and this will allow me to show you, once again, the things that you can accomplish by using these two complimentary programs.
Moreover, as one can not directly import HD clips into the Easy FX Editor, this trick might also enable me use HD video while using the HFX Effect and Easy FX Editor from Studio 12.
I am not about to tell you that my little tinkering can replace the Montage Themes. So quit dreaming but enjoy yourself anyway ..

When you hear this word, Ripples, generally speaking you think about ripples in the water. But since the introduction of Studio this word is also known in video editing. The ‘rippling’ function is designed to place the same identical transition between a number of continuous clips or photographs on the time-line.
Depending on the version, the interface is different and the mode of application changes slightly but the principle remains. This tutorial helps you to move easily from older versions to the new Studio versions.

Studio's preferred music format is .WAV so it is strongly advised to convert your music CD's to WAV files (Rip CD) instead of using the Studio CD Import function. This can be accomplished with the well known CDEx utility. This Tips & Tricks will explain how to proceed so there is no more need to insert CD's after deleting Auxiliary Files (as Studio needs to recreate the related Auxiliary Files), useful instant access to any music, and no risk of crash related issues. If you are using new Studio version, the above recommendation becomes a requirement.

Transparency allows you to create special effects (PIP like). It can be achieved by using the color tool (Chroma Key), which is documented in Studio. It can also be achieved by using an image stored in a format that retains some parts of the image as transparent. It is this process that I refer to in the following example.
