Following a DVsurfer remark, Hajji, we have slightly modified the tutorial titled "Restore SmartSound in Pinnacle Studio". We have taken into account:

• The QuickTrack Install is located either on DVD #1 or DVD #2, depending on the Pinnacle Studio version you own (full or upgrade)
• We strongly advise you to avoid installing the SmartSound patch located on the SmartSound website, to avoid any problem.

Today, we will cover the last segment in the software that will be explained through the tutorial by Mr. Jos Roijakkers (JR-VIDEO). Now that nothing is foreign to you in this Hollywood FX software, you can let your imagination run wild and create your own free HFX effects so you can share your original creations on the the Declic-Video site.

Following the remark of a DVnaute (or DVsurfer, new term which designated internet surfer), three HFX Generic has been remade. Collection HFX #182.

Why?
Simply because of the overscan problem (*) (when viewing on a TV a video clip made with one of those HFX, 10% of the video was lost). With plasma or LCD TV, this phenomenon (overscan) is normally not present.

Studio 11.1.2.5231b update for Studio 11.x users

Studio 11.1.2.5231b is specifically for Pinnacle Video Transfer users who want to edit their H.264 captures in Studio. Without this patch there will be audio sync problems.

Who should install this update ?
If you are not a Pinnacle Video Transfer user and you already installed the Studio 11.1.1 patch, you don't need to install Studio 11.1.2 (no interest for you). If you do not have installed Studio 11.1.2, please do so (and read the corresponding article).
If you are a Pinnacle Video Transfer user and you did not install the Studio 11.1.1 patch, you can directly apply this Studio 11.1.2 patch (it contains Studio 11.1.1 enhancement).

How to install the patch ?
Close Studio, download it and double-click on the file to launch the installation. Follow the instructions...

Please take note that if you download the patch before 28th March 2008, you should download it again to obtain the latest version (a bug was preventing it from installing).

For those of you (like me) who were not aware that a new Edition of Pinnacle Studio was born, be informed that Pinnacle has launched a “Pinnacle StudioPlus v.11 Extreme Photo Edition”.

What's this ?
A special edition for digital camera owners as well as camcorder owners interested in photo slideshows. This version combines photo slideshow creation tools with the advanced video editing features of Pinnacle Studio Plus v.11.

A recent survey by Pinnacle Systems found that for 50% of consumers who are interested in video editing, but currently don’t use any software, digital cameras are their primary source for capturing video versus 33% who said camcorders are their primary source.

What are the differences with other versions ?
It contains the famous StageTools™ MovingPicture plugin (allows for perfectly repeatable pan and zoom moves with high resolution pictures). Very simple to use, Moving Picture enables users to preview motion in real time without any rendering and to enjoy smooth and tapered motion paths. Otherwise, you benefit from all Pinnacle Studio Plus V11 features, as usual.

Do you currently have the double-codec entries problem in Make Movie (Pinnacle Studio 11) ? If so, you might want to try this Tip!

Many users reported ‘double entries’ issues after launching Studio by double-clicking on the project file (.stx), a shortcut based on it (.lnk), or a restart of Studio following a crash, and without choosing to restore last used project. It has been determined that in these particular circumstances Studio does rebuild some internal data especially if it was used for the first time and needed to self-reinstall some components. This is why you’re getting double entries. In this case, each 2nd entry (the double) must be not used otherwise you might crash Studio. This Tips & Tricks allows you to get rid of these double entries.

Sometimes it is difficult to explain using words what Hollywood FX software can do, so a movie can give a much better idea! In general, these movies are created by the software publisher....

A number of you want to preserve old  super 8 movies and/or old VHS tapes.  The first step is to get them on a DVD either by you or someone else. After that is done you may want to go further by cutting some scenes, edit some lighting and even make a video montage.  And why not add a menu.  The Studio software is perfectly suited for this type of operation, as these DVD's are not copy-protected.
