Déclic Vidéo FX posted on July 25, 2010 20:00 (Total Votes: 2) Is it the end of Pinnacle Studio ? For sure not.... But it's worth mentionning that a new YouTube Video Editor just appeared middle of June 2010. In 2007, YouTube launched a more advanced Flash-based video editor called YouTube Remixer, but it was discontinued (the service was based on Adobe Premiere Express and, despite offering features like transitions, captions, adding images, it was slow and buggy).
Video editing usually requires installing software packages and having a fair amount of technical savvy. But YouTube think video editing should be fun and easy, so they are introducing a new tool that anyone could figure out: it’s an online video editor, now available in TestTube, their ideas incubator. Without installing any software, it allows you to: - Combine multiple videos you’ve uploaded to create a new longer video
- Trim the beginning and/or ending of your videos
- Add soundtracks from our AudioSwap library of tens of thousands of songs
- Create new videos without worrying about file formats and publish them to YouTube with one click -- no upload necessary
So, what about you ? Did you already experienced it ? Give us your feedback, the comments are opened and ready to receive your remark and suggestion. Show us your movie done with this tool !! Do you think it will replace Pinnacle Studio in a near future ?... Watch this video from powerposter rewboss to get a sense of how it works: You will also find PCMag review here.
And thanks to Gert, please find here some additionnal information: How to use YouTube Video editor. Monday, July 26, 2010 6:08 AM
The quality movie editors are safe. All these quick edit stuff are just a flash in the pan. Good for web & youtube footage. Not to worry. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 2:21 AM
My upload time is so slow I'll die before my footage is all uploaded. With out a dedicated line the fastest up load in town is only 56kbyts.Besides I am using this as an pro-sumer application now that liquid is gone. Why did they do that?A local producer was on the beta team in Seattle that developed liquid. The new version was to be a hybrid of Avid and Pinnacle.i.e. you had the option of using the Pinnacle GUI instead of the standard interface to help with the learning curve. So what happened?Get us more video tracks and who cares. I am seriously considering changing over from Windows to Apple. I am looking at an iMac 27 in an outfit. I have been led to believe that, unike Pinnacle, this will process video footage a lot faster and easier. I have been a Pinnacle user since Pinnacle 9 Moviebox days. I did recommend Pinnacle Studio v 14 Ultimate to a friend who seems to be happy with his purchase - it is good. Any thoughts on the Apple outfit please?

Hello Peter, On my side, I have no experience of Mac (excepted that I own an iPhone I am very happy with !!!). Maybe someone else might answer ??? But we are all Pinnacle users, and consequently Windows OS is necessary (I know that Mac can emulate Windows... But....) DV FX Friday, July 30, 2010 10:38 AM
Dear DV FX, I understand and I thank you for your kind response. I will not lose Pinnacle on my computer, as I am familiar with it but sometimes I just get fed up with it. I downloaded the software and have no hard copies so I am unable to transfer the Boris Graffitti from Ver 12 to ver 14 as I do not know how to enable that transfer. It is frustrating. I have import video into ver 12, use Boris for titles and save the entire show, then try to import it into ver 14. What a mess. Friday, July 30, 2010 1:34 PM
Ok Peter. Have you tried to follow our tutorial regarding Boris FX installation for S14 ? Even if you do not have the DVD, you should be able to run the transfer wizard and to use your electronic file, should be the same. Keep us in touch, DV FX Wednesday, August 04, 2010 8:34 AM
i like it & i highly thankful of pinnacle for this good product Monday, August 09, 2010 8:26 PM

September 10th, 2009
Avid® today announced a major update to its family of Pinnacle Studio™ video editing solutions. Widely regarded as the industry’s leading application for home video editing*, Pinnacle Studio software now offers an even broader array of HD capabilities with a new simplified user interface that makes it easier to manage content and an unified capture/import utility for the latest formats and camcorders. Other new features include:
- A stop-motion capture for animated and fast-motion effects.
- New content and enhancements for Pinnacle Montage.
- Dynamic Motion Titler tool that includes a number of new templates.
- A new stabilizer effect – leveraging the same technology used in Avid’s professional editing products to fix shaky camera shots.
The new Pinnacle Studio meets the needs of a wide range of consumers, from novices to video enthusiasts and semi-professionals. The family of products includes Pinnacle Studio HD, Pinnacle Studio Ultimate and Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Collection, which offer a complete HDV & AVCHD workflow and allows consumers to export movies to Flash, QuickTime, PS3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox, Apple iPod and more. Pinnacle Studio Ultimate and Pinnacle Ultimate Collection also offer Blu-ray authoring with motion menus.
“This version of Studio absolutely rocks – it’s probably the best advance since the move to digital. New built-in features help to make it very easy for newcomers and hobbyists to create Hollywood-like movies and to turn their family and holiday shoots into something really special,” said Pinnacle Studio Beta tester Mike Shaw, an international award-winning amateur movie maker. Shaw also highlighted the new user interface improvements, which make it easier for editors to find their way around, and praised the enhancements of Pinnacle Montage themes, as well as the new import features that make it easier to select the source of the movies consumers wish to import.
Alec Marshall, Director of Segment Marketing for Creative Enthusiasts at Avid, said, “A growing number of both video and point-and-shoot cameras now capture high-definition video, creating a burgeoning demand for editing tools that allow for high-quality export to the web, upload to YouTube, and creation of HD files for sharing. The latest version of Pinnacle Studio makes HD editing a breeze, empowering consumers to easily grab photos and videos from video cameras, still digital cameras or camera phones and easily bring that content to life using music, Pinnacle Montage Themes, animations and effects. Once finished, they can share their masterpieces with friends and family–or the world–with direct high-quality upload to YouTube, or by simply burning a DVD.”
Customers who purchase Pinnacle Studio Ultimate software receive two bonus professional plug-ins: ToonIt and Knoll Light factory effects from video masters Red Giant. Those who purchase Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Collection will receive the most complete solution, including a green sheet for Chroma key effects and six highly acclaimed professional plug-ins from Red Giant:
- Shine ultra-fast light ray effects
- ToonIt turns video into cartoon style animation
- Knoll Light factory creates lens flares, sunsets & more
- Magic Bullet Looks generates advanced video styles
- 3D stroke creates glowing lines, swirling shapes, and 3D camera effects
- Particular smoke, explosion, and abstract effects
