UPDATE February 15th: Pinnacle Studio 15 review We are in the same position than you, we learn through different messages worlwide in various forums, that Pinnacle website mentionned during few hours details regarding a possible Studio 15 version.... So, what is your opinion ? Is it true ?.... You can find part of the discussion on the official Pinnacle forum here. You will have various information (details regarding the next version, screenshot, Google cache capture some of the pages). We heard everything, from the fact that Studio 15 will be free for Studio 14 users to complete AVCHD enhancement... But take care, these are rumours, nothing has been verified so far. Our intention, is just to obtain your feedback. So, if it's true, are you ready to jump ? Is it a good news for you ? Who will try it ? Did Pinnacle take into account your suggestion listed here ? This, a viewpoint of a Studio 14U user and a former systems programmer for IBM mainframes: Releases are usually categorized as a 'Major Release' or a 'Maintenance Release'. As there was no 'patch' to Studio 14 yielding 14.1 as was available for Studio 12, Studio 15 would most probably fall into the 'Major' category. Regardless, we, in the trenches, welcomed the new offering only so far as to allow us, tired of chasing all the old problems, to confront a host of new problems. Variety is the spice of life. If Studio 15 is made available to those of us on 14 for free, I'll certainly try it out but go easy with the cayenne. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 10:54 AM

Hallo aan onze Nederlandse vrienden. @ Casper01: We hebben allemaal moeten beseffen dat items die worden aangeboden zonder kosten kan worden alleen de moeite waard wat wij betalen voor hen. @ Akbar Ali: If software were free of problems, people (like me) in Technical Support would all be unemployed. :-(

I have been a long time user of Studio and get "jaded" by new releases having to be tested and proven by the user, what do the Pinnicle programmers get paid for. I will try V15 if it is free of cost and errors. Thursday, January 13, 2011 5:22 AM

To keep up with the rest we will probably see 3D and very few fixes if any !! I hope that 15 is coming and that it tke care of all the Bugs also with 14 ultimate it is not possibel to send to the Web. Can anyone solve this. Why is Pinnacle so quiet on the issue of launching 15?

I have just recieved an email from pinnacle offering me an upgrade to studio 15. I will only upgrade if pinnacle can guarantee that it will work and is bug free and will give me my money back if it doesent. Nobody has commented, but there is also now an Avid Studio product being offered, that apparently has unlimited tracks, something Pinnacle Studio has certainly lacked. The upgrade pricing for it is approximately $100CAD, so it makes it an interesting choice vs going for Pinnacle Studio 15. I'm somewhat torn. There is a product comparison page, contrasting the Pinnacle Studio products vs. this Avid Studio product. I'm wondering if the switch would free me of long-time Pinnacle Studio bugs (poor/blocky title rendering...) or introduce me to a new world of bugs. to me the smart choice is to stick with Studio 14, and as I am in no particular troubles me, and I prefer to switch to version 15 seems to differentiate the version number 14 only, and not switch to Avid as that is not fully compatible with all plugins pinnacle studio also find no clearly defined way of working with Avid studio Sunday, February 20, 2011 9:34 PM

The review would be great. I'm wondering about actual 64-bit application executables? 64bit compatibility is easy/common, but if there's actually a 64bit executable, I'm sure it would help our performance in the application with extra RAM. Studio 15 I am confused what am I getting for my hard earned cash? I have tried the 30 day trial version of studio 15 and I cant see any difference between 14 and 15. I can say that the problems that have plagued studio 14 seem to have been cured in studio 15. That said why havent pinnacle produced this as a patch? I bought studio in September 2009 on the launch date and to this day its still not working. The video freezes in the pre-view window the sound and the frame counter still work. I have made contact with pinnacle support nearly weekly to try and sort this problem and others with no success. The first thing I tried when studio 15 loaded was to see if the video freezes it works perfectly. I think pinnacle should send out FREE software for users that have not been able to get studio 14 to work. Monday, February 28, 2011 12:59 AM
I have uploaded Pinnacle 12 & Pinnacle 14 in my computer. With Pinnacle 12 I can upload my Mini DVds via a fire wire from my computer , but with Pinnacle 14 - the import icon gives a reading "Failed to get video from device" although I can listen to the Audio. I should mention that I used to upload my Dvds from Pinnicle 14 also. I can also see my earlier DVDs in the Edit mode with Pinnalce 14. Can someone assist. Thanks. Sunday, March 06, 2011 1:06 PM
