Recently someone asked us why we could not change the name of the cameraman. How embarrassing ... Corny the author of this fine effect has no longer expressed long ago.. So I am going to suggest three hypotheses : - This is a deliberate action to leave you a bit of work to do...
- This is a technical constraint (beyond a certain number of items "Text3D" there are blockings);
- It is simply an oversight.
We will try to fix all together this little lacking. Step 1 : Creating a new effect from the existing effect
| To begin, download and install the effect 250_Eigen_Clapper if not already done then locate it in the folder FX 00-Declic-Video. Double click the thumbnail to load the effect in the FX tree. |

| Select the effect 250_Eigen_Clapper and save it under a different name in your personal folder. |
You can actually see the cameraman's name is not...
To add the missing object, you're going to clone an existing object to save time. But remember the tip I gave you in the tutorial "Cloning in Hollywood FX" to clone an object Plugin "Text3D...
- You get quite low in the FX tree to find object 46;
- You select the plugin "Text3D" 2 1 and you clone it.
The clone was installed immediately below "Text3D" 2 1 and the two plugins are still dependent to the same object (which does not allow to set them separately) (for more details, see the tutorial "Cloning in Hollywood FX ).
You right click at the end of tree...
| and you add a null object at the end of tree. The new object will be created at the red arrow. |
| Then drag the clone "Text3D" 2 1 1 under the null object you just created. Note that this object is not dependent to the entire clap (left alignment without dashes in front) |
| The null object named "Object" by default has been automatically renamed in "Text". We must make this object depending on the master object that controls the simultaneous movement of all objects of the clap. For easier to achieve this, you move up the new object "Text" by selecting and right-clicking. |
| The new object "Text" came to be positioned immediately above the object of the same last rank, ie above the "Object" which is the master object that controls the movements of the entire clap . If you want the full name of the cameraman moves along with the rest of the clap, you must make the text depending on the entire clap and therefore it should be placed under the master object "Object". By moving it up in the tree, the two objects are near each other, what will make your work easier... |
You drag the object "Text" to put it under the control of the object "Object".
Reminder: To perform this operation, hold the "Ctrl" key while you drag the object "Text" with the mouse while holding the left mouse button. You should see a green line that appears at the place where will take place insertion. It may be that you could not insert object "Text" just under "Object" but under the object "Clapper Top". It does not matter, you simply right click on the object "Text" and move it up.
| The new object "Text" is in its place ... |
The new object, cloned from the object 46, has inherited all the settings of the object 46. You'll just have to change :
- the text content;
- the position;
- the size.
You may see our previous tutorials to make these changes.
- Enter the cameraman's name;
- Change the position of the object "Text" which will automatically take the name of the cameraman's name;
- Adjust font size depending on available space.
- Remember to bring the quality of the text to 2 to avoid deadlocks (See tutorial"A Wood Title".

Step 2 : An embodiment with the effect changedYou only have to take ACTION ! {Thanks to saby who translated this tutorial from french to english and cross-checked it} |
