When everything goes wrong what do we do.......

First, consult this tutorial: Optimize your computer before you start editing

Then if you encounter performance issue :

Before asking why your system is running slowly or appearing to lock up, please check if this also happens with the sample project that comes with the program and you can load from ? menu, Start, Load sample movie. This project uses video footage that should not place significant demands on your hardware.

Do not forget to check your Studio configuration, check or uncheck the hardware acceleration check box, it might help a lot !

If you have a rendering issue :

If you don't suffer from noticable performance issues but experience problems when trying to make a file or a disc, or the preview optimisation bars turn red rather than green, then please make sure if the same thing happens when you use the sample project as described above.

If the issue comes from effects :

When an effect doesn't work correctly, in particular a speed effect, again please check it with the sample project.

In all the above cases, if you still have problems with the sample project or footage, then you are likely to have an instalation issue or your computer doesn't meet the basic hardware requirement.

For installation issue you can try the tip described in item # 18 of this FAQ .

Alos check our Pinnacle Studio FAQ #24

If you can't find yourself a solution you may have to rely on the knowledge and good will of the members of a video forum. For example the forum of Pinnacle .

Hello fellow Pinnale studio sufferers.
I just upgraded to Studio 10.8
If I recall, when I had Studio 8 there was a vast assortment of songs/music bulit into the program that you could plug into your video creations. Studio 10 seems to have only 11 sample songs.
Did I forget to do something?? Can I import from the Pinnacle Studio 8 CD.
Any ideas? What do you folks do for music?

Thanks a bunch.

Hello Greg,

I guess you speak about Smartsounds which have been replaced since Studio 10 by Scorefitter.

Take a look at this tutorial : Restore SmartSound in Pinnacle Studio

It seems it can solve your problem.

Cool. But one big huge problem with this guide....

How exactly are we meant to delete the auxillary files if we are not told how to do it?
